I have travelled 3 times in biz class on QF (and once with a return on TN with a great stopover in Tahiti), all 3 times within a mth of travel. These seats are always hard to find but a little persistence and some flexibility pays dividends. Sign up for either the QF FFlyer program, so you can search for award seat availability, or even better, Expertflyer, and you should be able to find something. You havent said when you want to go, but I would suggest any holidays, or Australian summer is the hardest time to get seats. First is almost impossible to get, but I have seen times where single seats pop up. Just keep your options open on flying time. Might be a good idea to try the daytime flight from LAX to SYD as it seems to be less booked than the evening flights. Additionally midweek flying will give you more opportunities as well. Also try the new SFO - SYD flights , as they just started, and maybe have more availablity. Also, look for flighths into other cities, (Brisbane, Melbourne, or even connections thru New Zealand.) Good Luck
