stemor, yes they did, although their letter scared me for a second. It contained all the boilerplate: "Gold Elite status for the remainder of the current elite year. These one-time... blah blah blah... will remain vaild until Feb. 28, 2003" - at which point I got Real Tense.

Next para: "Due to the timing of your 2002 [comp etc.], please be advised that your Gold [etc] will be continued through the 2003 program year." Whew!

We didn't talk to anyone except an ordinary NW phone agent. She simply gave us the number to fax in our comp request and credentials, so that's what we did.

More details than anyone probably want to know: Lex called the regular WP# and asked if there was any possibility that our old WP accounts could be dredged up. His was done in 60-90 seconds (it was only 8 yrs or so dormant); she couldn't get mine (12 yrs old?), possibly too old, OR because last summer NW sent me a Silver card (unsolicited) with a new WP number, so that was the number she got from the computer for me.

So when we faxed in our comp requests, we also asked if they could find my old WP account, which they did. They even gave us back some of our dormant miles, and a rather better log of total miles flown, esp for Lex.

I notice that you're in MEM. From a small bit of anecdotal evidence, it seems possible to me that NW gives flyers in its hubs a somewhat harder time about comps than it does in its outstations. (Surprise!)

Still, if you think you've got it straightened out, I'd say "whew" and go on.

I have a suspicion you and we will be happy we got in at the head of the wave...
