Did NW give you your Gold effective immediately?

I had a mind altering conversation with a WP customer service rep how told me that my Gold started on 3/1/03. I hesitated, dazed and confused, then said that I had six itineraries to fly between NOW and 2/28, so I would like the Gold to be effective immediately.

"Well, we ARE doing you a favor by giving it to you", she said, "and our program year DOES start on 3/1. You DO understand that, don't you?"

Yeesh, it's tough to even GIVE my DL PLT business away. I think I finally have them straightened out, but it shouldn't be this tough ...
