Two reasons:
1) because MH fare is 2800MYR and KL is 730MYR online. Unless there is a trick to get a big discount on the MH fare, I do not see the point of paying in excess of 600$ or almost 4 times as much to try a lounge.
2) MH does not give miles on DL anymore as of two weeks ago from I've heard.

I will be flying KUL-SIN in F on my return and maybe I will get the ticket on MH, go to the lounge and then change to a SQ flight That way I get to try the MH lounge in KUL
