I know this has been covered before in the forum, but a maybe useful piece of info.
I've travelled with an
EpiPen for a number of years now, as I can have a rather nasty and fast acting allergic reaction.
I've got a doctors letter, never been asked for it at check in or at security, have been told in the US that it will not show up on the TSA scanners, never a problem.
Last week coming out of HKG, they picked it up on the scanner and yep, my docs letter was in my other bag, duh...!
I was kept at security for about 15 mins, flight details taken, reason for having it on board, pharmacy details taken off the box, had I notified the airline (yes, as I had told the check in agent at Kowloon Airport Express..) anyway it was just a hassle, that as the v.pleasant security lady told me wouldn't have happened if I had my doctors letter.
Now to be honest the doctors letter, I could have done better on Word, but it looks official'ish with a stamp on, so would probably have saved the hassle.
So, if you are an EpiPen carrier and you are heading though Honkers, make sure you've got your docs letter.. ^
