I had no problem using OnePass miles on a couple of intra-Asia Korean flights recently as part of a complicated US-Asia itinerary. Not only that, my standard coach award was upgraded to Biz from BKK-ICN, which is about 5 hours. Sweet. I introduced myself as a Skyteam Elite+ at check-in and asked for a good seat, but in no way was I looking for an upgrade on an award. On-board the concierge memorized my name and made it a point to thank me for flying. I must also say that of the Asian carriers I've flown this year (Korean, Singapore, Vietnam, and JAL) Korean had the most consistently hot FAs.
