Travelling around Ascension Day from Brussels to Amsterdam?

Is Ascension Day a heavily travelled holiday? Ascension Day, which is a holiday in Belgium and the Netherlands, is on Thursday, May 25. The wife and I are travelling from Brussels to Amsterdam on Friday, May 26 on our Eurail passes to catch our flight home from Schiphol that afternoon. There are hourly InterCity trains from Brussels to Amsterdam but we'd prefer not getting stuck fighting holiday travellers to get on a train or standing for most of the 2.5hr trip.

Can anyone provide some insight on whether not we really need to reserve seats for this leg of our trip?

TIA.
