Dubai's demise has been predicted many times since the UAE has formed in 1971. There is a lot of undeclared wealth around in India, Pakistan and the Middle East. That money has found its way to Dubai. Plus the Petrodollars and slave labor. They will keep on growing.
Exactly, although I would not call it slave labor, horrendous as labor conditions can sometimes be there.
(That leaves me to wonder why there's not a "Swiss"-banking option somewhere closer to India and Pakistan, for it would make quite a load of money too, but that's another topic.)
