You should definitely stay at the IC which, though farther away from the business you're visiting, isn't too far away from the Galleria area. I haven't been to the CP post refurbishing, but the IC is way way nicer. It also is not the newest IC, but it is in good shape and as an RC I usually get one of the two story suites which is weird, but interesting. Usually, the IC is priced pretty well for an IC, and the service there has always been very good for me, though I am not a service-intensive guest.
PS -- I've not stayed at the HI Select mentioned in another post, so my post is not intended as a slam to that property. It sounds like a good alternative as well.
