I have a small Sephora travel brush set that has held up well. No shedding. I know it wasn't the $42 one, because I happened to see it after I had checked out. The one I got was probably around $24. I guess it's a good thing I didn't run back up to exchange mine for the $42 set (which I would've done if I had more time).
I've had this set for a couple of years now and am quite happy with it. APart from that I've had to glue the handle back on the brush on one or two of them, they do a great job.
I also have a few travel sized Bobbi Brown that I love. They float around my travel bag.
