Nope. I am pretty sure I was not a forced overnight since I bypassed a lot of potential flights to LAX. Forced overnight is when there IS NO earlier flight you can get on until the next day.

My routing was legal. It was JFK-CDG one way. CDG-JFK-LAX on the return, with JFK as a stopover. I think that is how it counted.
