I know some airlines do this for Intl. premium flyers. Though it is nice to not board an hour ahead, I am not always sure what the advantage is to sit in the lounge to wait to board. You have to wait either way. And if you are in the lounge, all you are thinking about (usually) is making sure you board in time. Is nice if you are busy doing business or visiting though.
