I would guess this is a 747. If so, try to get seats upstairs, preferably in the emergency exit rows. The A-B combination (I keep forgetting what row number it is) is slightly better that the other side of the plane (the window is right by the seat).

The seats aren't as good as Delta's BE seats, and I think it gets a bit cramped downstairs.

I haven't flown AF to Papeete, but the food and wine across the Atlantic is good and the service is good. Be prepared to practice your French, and the service gets even better.
