No problem checking your baggage through, I've done this DL/SQ many times and it goes very smoothly (actually better than DL/DL connections!). The NRT/HKG flight on CX is particularly fine (CX trying to court the Japanese market), but I've only flown it in F. Most CX flights to Japan are 2-class but the 744s are not.
