I'd rather ask you guys than a telephone rep (got different answers when I did )...

777LR and I are routing our HKG trip MSY-ATL-NRT (DL) connecting to CX (NRT-HKG). Will DL check our bags through to HKG since they are the ones who planned/issued our CX connection?

Even if they would (from your personal experiences); would we be better off to request that they dont, collect our bags in NRT, and recheck them ourselves? We have a relatively generous layover inbound to HKG, but outbound is tight.
