A few things...
Being smart and cheap may sometimes appear the same but only a stupid person would confuse the two.
As more of a lurker than a poster, I will miss many of you as we take off for different airlines. I liked flying Delta, I liked the staff and crews and I liked you guys and gals. Not all of you, just the smart ones who spent way too much of their lives sitting next to me in FC or in the CRC for their connecting flight.
Thanks to those of you who have joined in recently and shared poignant and passionate posts that not only mirror my feelings but capture the insanity of what is certainly a suicidal move for an airline that depends on us, the business traveler.
Finally, the point that the apologists (yes, that means you robnsfla) seem to constantly overlook is that Y, K or T fare makes little difference other than the speed with which you achieve a higher "status". A "status" that now gives you less than you had received before. Regardless of how you measure it, those who stick with DL will be spending far more and receiving far less.
The true absurdity here is that business travelers began deserting the majors because they were getting less and paying more for it. Giving customers (us) even less than before won't make things better. It'll only make them worse faster.
I'll say it again, Delta, you are making a mistake. Fix it before it's too late.
