Last Thursday at DCA airport, I brought back a paper ticket to be cancelled and recredited to my account. Gave the agent my 1K card, he didn't have me sign anything or any mention of not knowing the rules and charging me a fee. Looked at my bank account this morning and there it was, $100 United Airlines Award Fee.
