This is all good info. Thanks!
I will be flying from Male to Bangkok through Dubai on a UA-EK RTW booked in F. It's an 18 hour connection at DXB so this will come in very, very handy.
Query, although it does not apply to my current itinerary: If I have an F ticket, but the next flight onward on EK is only a two-class of service aircraft, is that the flight EK will look to for the connection time, or will they look to the next flight operated with a three-class of service aircraft?
[In my case, the MLE-DXB flight is in C, but DXB-BKK is served by both two and three class of service aircraft (all of which are more than 6 hours out in my situation)]
