Inspired by the hotel pet-peeves thread I will start a rental car pet-peeve thread.

My biggest peeves:

1. Rental places NEVER, EVER give you correct directions to a hotel. Plus they talk extremely fast or give you those postage stamp maps.

2. Rental car places that do not keep enough cars on stock. They offer me "next available car is yours". No, I don't want the 15 passenger van even if your giving me a free tank of gas.

3. Poorly maintained cars which too much mileage. (ex. A 2005 Liberty with 25,000 mi who's underbody rattled and made a racket when driving) I wasn't doing too much highway driving so I decided not to return it.
