Here's a silly question...I can get a reward tkt now for 70K for EWR-PTY. They usually do open up the 35K r/t closer to departure. I want to be sure I have a seat so I will get the 70K. If a few days closer the 35K becomes available can I book the 35K and then cancel and redeposit the 70K? I know I will pay the redeposit fee and probably a short notice booking fee but that would still be better then using an extra 35K.

Again, sorry if this is a dumb question and I would think I could do it but just wanted to be sure. Maybe some have done this?
