UDH: thanks for elucidation. Nobody I know has problems with Nonrevs taking available seats. As other threads show, some of us have problems with nonrevs complaining when they can't get on an otherwise (pax or cargo) full flight.

And some of us will no longer pay extra to not get upgrades, and will leave. Tell that to the bosses. We are going, with our Q and H and K and occasional M and Y and B fares. It's just not worth it if the alternative is flying Delta's appalling bad coach.
