my dad is from eastern europe, came here after ww II, and has been here 50 years, and speaks english, but he does not speak it like a " native american englishp speaker does." and i would never in a million years, if i had a business, have him answering the phone, as his accent is still strong, and although he has been here for 50 years, he still does not understand all of our "nuances." i know these companies outsource jobs as it is cheaper to pay someone 1.00 an hour, example versus 10.00 or 15.00 or whatever per hour, but i would think that the backlash would be worse and that when the customer has to call back several times, to get the problem solved, it is not very efficient.... and the reason this country and these corporations are like this is as we have sadly become what i like to call a " wal-mart" country, where we want things "AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE, but we,and i am also guilty of this, as i would estimate that at least 95% of us people are, and therefore if the price of items were higher, then we could pay better wages here in the usa, and then perhaps we would not have to outsource so many jobs... just like airplane prices, i have no problems with them raising prices 10.00 or so across the board, if that means the airlines can make money, so be it..., but then they should leave the customer service jobs here, and all.... if they do this, all examples.... thanks for listening, try not to be too political.
