It's always been this way. Mr Fish has gotten high threshholds for several years with Select, and has never achieved a single bonus. They base it on a "goal" to increase your flying (by a bit over your last year or two, same time period) so if you don't increase, you don't achieve.
I will not even come close to acheiving this. I will fly my usual 130,000 miles, but it will not be even remotely close to the 26 roundtrips. Therefore, I just ignore it. If I thought i'd be close, then I could see the wanting to push it a little to get the bonus, but I wont even be close.
I will reach 1k on UAL though, and will maintain my Platinum on CO
