I used mine this year by adding my girlfriend on to a long business trip that I had to take anyway. As far as liesure travel goes, unless I am trying to make segments I don't think the pricing structure is very competitive with other airlines that offer point to point service. Also, as a Platinum, I was unable to uprgrade using these certificates. I understand that some people have had luck upgrading, however, I have not. I tried upgrading in offices in multiple cities with many agents and no one would bite. Bottom line, if you have to take this trip or need the segments or miles (your companion does not get miles) it might be worth it. Otherwise, on a pricing basis it isn't worth it. I think the 10K base miles and no cap on miles earned is the best reason for this card.
