I don't think I am being cheap.

I have, in the past, paid more to travel on DL. I have never flown on AirTran/JetBlue and only had 2 flights on SouthWest.

I travel on ULT as well as K+. I have an upcoming trip in both K and Q class.

Delta's program had given me a reason to choose them as my exclusive carrier.

If the new program rules relegate me to the back of the bus, so be it. I am fine with that.

I will not: Inconvinience myself by flying through a hub when I could fly non stop on another carrier.

I will not: Sit in a cramped coach cabin with my knees in my chest when I can, for the same price, or even a tiny bit more, have just a small amount of leg room.

I have for the most part, enjoyed my experience with Delta over the last 30 years.
I will continue to fly on them when and only when it makes good sense to do so.

It seems ironic that they change their programs (not just Delta) and impliment rules that seem to drive away business and at the same time, ask me (and everyone else) to bail out the industry with grants and guaranteed loans from tax dollars.

I did not complain about L, then U and then T fares. It was up to me to choose when I would spend more for an upgradable and when not to.

It does not make any more sense for me to chase after PM any longer. In normal years I would qualify for GM with no "runs" It appears now that I would have to "run" for GM. What's the point? In under 10K miles, now forced to be closer to 20K due to the new .5 rule, I will be MM.

See you all in the sky. Now I will be seeing more of you than ever, on AA/US/NW/CO/WN/ETC....
