Even though I'm sure that I'm very special indeed ( ), in this instance I just went over to the service desk, showed the agent my card, and asked whether she agreed that the expiry date on the card was 03/2007. When she concurred, I informed her that the Internet access terminal did not. She immediately pulled a card from her desk, went over to the terminal with me, and swiped it.

The service agent told me that issues with the terminal were not uncommon, but that this was the first time she had heard of my particular problem.
