Thumbs up Hilton now has $775,000/room resort, 2nd most expensive in the world

An interesting industry stat...

Now that Hilton owns the Grand Wailea in Maui, it has bragging rights of having the 2nd most expensive hotel rooms (to build) in the world at $775,000/room.

The third most expensive room in the world is the Bellagio Hotel/Casino/Resort in Las Vegas, where they spent $533,000/room.

Honors for most expensive room in the world remains in Las Vegas; the budget per room there is just under $1,100,000.

With that type of capital invested into the property, it'll be a miracle if HHonors releases reasonable award inventory at Wailea ...especially if they're able to command $750/night+ in cash now for a regular room. (Although at $775,000/room average, I doubt any room can just be "regular.")
