Hotel concierge. We were at a hotel near Leidseplein, and the tour operator sent a bus to take us (and many others) to the starting place (near Centraal).

I forget the cost but this was in 2001 whan the dollar was much stronger (the Euro was around 85 cents) so cost wasn't really important...

If you do want to see Alkmaar do the tour on a Friday.
