Long story short, I got accidentally enrolled in AA's platinum challenge rather than gold. Customer service fixed (eventually), and, as an apology, left the platinum challenge open. This leaves me needing to fly 1715 qpoints by 31 May. I told myself I wouldn't fall into the mileage run routine, if I can get platinum cheap enough, I should reconsider.

Because I have to fly in a non-bottom fare class (or actually fly 3430 miles), I'm thinking it's easiest to get the 1715 by flying four segments (and relying on the 500 minimum mile).

I'm currently living in BOS, so I can go out of BOS or PVD. I'd like to do it all in a day. I can fly on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, or Tuesdays, and don't really care where I go. The best I'm seeing is two round trips to JFK for $130 each, before taxes and such. While cheap, it's more than I want to pay (I'm still looking for a 4-segment r/t somewhere), so while I continue looking, I figured I'd toss my goal out here for advice.
