"don't worry"??? There is more to worry about than just getting your money back from the original ticket. There is getting home if you are in the middle of an itinerary and you have to pay last minute walk-up fare to another airline. I know of no airline website that is tooled to honor the $50 one-way rule about honoring defunct airline tickets so another worry is waiting on hold for an Indian rep who isn't even aware of the rule or standing in a mile-long line at the airport in hopes that there will be a seat to my destination.
The $199 that I spent to go from FLL to SFO (RT!) that I can recover because I used a credit card is the least of my worries.
($199! Does that even cover my share of the fuel?)
