Using AMEX to pay for internal South African flights

Minority interest, but a word to the wise; if you go through the BA.com booking engine to book ZA internals, you will find AMEX missing from the drop-down payment menu and a special message saying "We can't process your AMEX payment online; please call us". When you call, you'll be told that because of fraud issues, the South Africa office "can't'" (i.e won't) accept AMEX; hence it's not available online. Yes, the call centre will accept your AMEX for this booking but "no, Sir" they won't waive the £15 offline charge per booking (oh really? What a surprise! -not) and so you have to go back online and go through the whole blasted process again to pay with another credit card and forego your bonus AMEX miles into the bargain.

Very customer-friendly and another one to add to the "waive the £15 fee" list.

Kudos though to Comair, £40/head PLZ to JNB when SAA charge (more than) twice as much for the (shorter) CPT - PLZ flight.
