Vodafone, AU, Wilcom, Etc

Hmmm - dunno about since April 1, but I know they do keep changing their policies.

Traditionally, Vodafone (previously J-Phone) was the most foreigner friendly. I had multiple phones over the years with them. They changed their policy a year ago or so - now you can only get a prepaid Vodafone without a ARC (Alien Registration Card) I think. As of a few months ago, you could still get an AU phone with an American credit card and a Japanese address. I have it on automatic debit to my card, so I don't really need to get the bill every month. Just use a friend's address or something.

Might wanna check Wilcom as well - they're kind of an unknown. Seem like good plans (especially for data), but they're PHS which has some pros and cons.

Anyways - let us know what you find.
