Wouldn't there be pathing issues at Clapham Junction between trains coming off the Brighton-bound fasts (LGW) onto the slows at the Waterloo-end of the station so they can head across to Imperial Wharf and then Kensington-O? IIRC the Clapham-Willesden trains terminate at CJ in an (island?) platform?

There...feel much better now.
As Dave_C says there is a diveunder the mainlines in Waterloo/Victoria which the Watford trains use..and were proposed to be used by an hourly Virgin service on upon a time. Another piece of beardy hype.

I guess the congestion could be getting from P16/17 at CJ onto the fast lines to Gatwick.
