Maybe my situation is different--since Mrs. Swede is a permanent resident, and Baby Swede is a US Citizen--I make sure Mrs. Swede has a notarized note giving her permission to travel overseas with Baby Swede. It takes about two minutes to fill out the form, and then I get it notarized for free at my bank. She's never been asked for it, but I
know that they would ask for it the one time we don't do it.
