Like Raffles said, they always seem to claim that you GOT the upgrade but it is off some secret list of a "better than what you booked" room. I have often been upgraded to the "better view" room. But if I really wanted a "better view" room of the SAME class, I would have booked it for $19 more within the same class. I never seem to get the upgrade in CLASS that they are promising. Have booked standard, I get standard with a "view" or standard with "fancy shampoo" as an upgrade. so I book superior, get superior with a "softer pillow", book deluxe then they say everything better than that is full. Of course I am exaggerating with the shampoo and pillow thing, but its not far from the truth, their idea of an upgrade and my idea just are 100% different.

So if I am not going to get upgraded in CLASS, might as well just buy standard for $140 and not get upgraded rather than pay $200 for the room that I SHOULD have been upgraded to but didnt get. that just irritates me to buy a better room hoping to get upgraded to something even more better and it never happens. So after about 5 times of buying something other than the cheapest room, hoping to get upgraded and it not happening even once, I buy the cheapest standard room I can find, with the knowledge that at best I will get a better "view". Oh well one day I will get this elusive class upgrade, VIP greeting, welcome gift (got a fruit plate and a bottle of water ONCE), instant checkin and all these things they claim I am supposed to get......I wonder if I will be similarly dissapointed if I ever get RA status...Im afraid to even find out...haha will probably get stuck paying for all I drank out of the "supposed to be free" minibar
