Apart from Atlanta, which is debatable, you got the upgrade that the terms and conditions say you should have got at these hotels.
In Paris you got a better upgrade than you might expect.
At Amstel you pay more for a room with a veiw so this is "one category higher" than the one you booked. Same with Chicago.
This makes me think that perhaps they do honour the upgrades.
I will find out on my first visit to an IC on Friday.
