We lived in China for a year, and often were asked to pose for pictures. The teenage girls lived to pose with Little Miss Redbeard because of her red hair. I'm 6'3", and men would put their child in front of me and snap away.

I don't get it.

It creeped Mrs. Redbeard out. She was taller than most of the men in China, and was quite a bit more "womanly" than the average Chinese woman. She drew a lot of attention.
