LAX would serve the most people. SEA and SFO aren't bad choices either. Not that many people live in Salt Lake City. DL claims that people can connect. However, those same people can also connect at MSP or DEN.

Has someone who knows the process of slot allocation know how pertinent congressional and (vice-)presidential pressure are in such decisions.
