We stayed two nights at Longitude 131 in late February 2005. We loved it! Is it worth the cost? Well, it depends. Ten nights of our hotels in Australia were free and so was the flight. Because of this we were inclined to splurge. We were very glad we did. We enjoyed the tours, the accomodations, the staff, the food, the drink, everything.

On our full day at Longitude 131 we went on an early morning tour. I had some trouble with the heat and decided to stay at the hotel in the afternoon while Mr. Harlot went on the sunset hike around Uluru. I spent the afternoon in the Dune House chatting with the staff. They were excellent. I had several delicious drinks, and toured the kitchens. By the time Mr. Harlot got back I was cooled down, tipsy and happy, and tickled with my friendly interaction with the staff.

We really enjoyed the communal meals. We met people from all over the world and had a good chat with them over dinner. There's only 30 people at the resort max and no kids, so the atmosphere is quiet and comfortable. No masses of screaming kids or anything.

The tents are very comfortable and it is neat to have your own little place. The minibar is very well stocked and it is all included, of course.

Staying at Longitude 131 was definitely a wonderful experience. I would love to go back. It was a real treat and I absolutely enjoyed it.
