Both take off at around the same time, so the only real issue is ability to sleep on the flight, i.e. legroom, comfort, etc.

If you're flying Y, the pitch and legroom on both poor on the DL 764 and NW 753 aircraft.
Great advantage to being on NW, is exit seat 14A/B with no seats in front and tons of leg room. (These seats are not blocked off for CoachChoice seating); But, DL also has exit row seating with tons of leg room.
Of course, you'd get a meal in Y on DL; same buy-on-board with NW.
For the shear promotions that NW runs (where you must fly NW metal) and the financial instability with DL given their pending strike, I'd go with NW and choose seat 14B even if it means flying on a smaller aircraft.
