Regina sells itself on the whole established in the early 20th century act. I don't know any locals that regularly go to Regina. It's all Umberto and Ernesto's. What type of pizza are you getting? Ernesto's shines with its unique speciality pies. I dare you to try the chicken ranch or chicken pepperoni riccota there and still tell me Regina is better.
Tourist trap - you bet, but boy do they have great pizza. I walk by both on my way too and from work every day and especially when walking home late the smell drives me crazy. (Heck the smell of mediocre pizza even works on me though. I also walk by Half Time Pizza across from the Garden every day and that smells great, although the pizza is just ok imho)

I will happily go to Umberto's and Ernesto's soon and report back. More pizza is always good.

(PS - Mike's and Moden are pretty much the same in terms of traps imho). I wouldn't step into either at 9pm on a weekend night if you payed me.

Regina's secret to be kept btwn us FT'ers - they have a "bar" with 4 or 5 stools and often during days when there are lines (Saturdays and Sundays) you can walk right past the line and ask if you can sit at the bar and avoid the line.
