I was on the tarmac at Andrew's AFB when Reagan was flown back to CA aboard AF1 after his memorial service in DC. We started in the hanger, which is huge, and then went out on the tarmac when the limos and hearse arrived.

However, I'm not sure if the plane was actually called AF1 when a past president's body was aboard (without the current president). I believe something was done that allowed the plane to be called AF1 for Reagan.
