If you want to avoid a lot of the traffic then take I-75 South to I-285 East and go to one of the Marta stations on the northside of town like Dunwoody or Medical Center. You should probably budget an hour and a half for travel time to be safe. The Marta trains have to stop at every station, but at least they are predictable, unlike the traffic on the downtown connector. From Dunwoody or Medical Center Station it’s about a forty-five minute ride to the airport.
