It can be done, just dont expect your bags to be there at the other end

At Xmas we were flying SFO-LAX, nasty weather came our scheduled flight was put back at 4 hours or so. I found a very lovely and helpful GA at a random gate, who looked at all the options and added us to the DM list for a flight she predicted would leave earlier and we would have best chance of getting.

She predicted right, our names got called we got the earlier flight (girlfriend very impressed)..

Get to LAX, I started to have this sinking feeling... no bags came... Baggage people laughed at me for thinking bags would follow (girlfriend not impressed)..

My bad really but you live you learn, when I thought back I did hear a GA on the phone trying to get someone luggage pulled on to the right flight so I guess it is possible (shame I didnt think) I think in my head I knew that luggage couldnt travel with out its owner, but obviously domestically I learn that doesnt matter

Then to be fair the charge to have it delivered to our hotel was only 20 bucks, except it took 26 hrs but they never charged so...
