Hi guys,
Mr. Ericka and I will be going to Male, Maldives in early 2007 using United miles for biz class *A award travel.
We HOPE to accomplish the following:
- most comfortable route possible (angled flat seats)
- leaving from any midwest or east coast airport
- stopping over OR using an open jaw ticket that includes Colombo, Sri Lanka
Our preliminary research (*A website for routing, and a quick call to United 1K desk) shows that all of the desirable nonstop flights thru Singapore (SQ) and Bangkok (Thai) are illegal in that they have us going past our destination before turning back toward Sri Lanka/Maldives. Anyone know a way around this short of leaving from the west coast?
The flights that keep coming up use Austrian Air which does not look particularly comfortable. There are new biz seats coming...but who knows if they would be in our particular aircraft in time?!?
Any of you experts out there have thoughts or suggestions? Of course, we realize that it will ultimately depend on what is available once we are ready to book, but we like to have a "best scenario" ready before we call.
Thanks!
