I sometimes use the serial numbered one time plastic locks sold by the travel shop companies, or better yet a small tyrap in a really wild color. I bet they have black and white tyraps at TSA, but I doubt they carry every size in every color. If the tie I put on is missing, I know someone has been in the bag.
As for TakeMeToEZE, how do you KNOW the plastic tie you saw was not put on by the baggage handler who cut off the TSA tie, "inspected" your bag, and re tied it with another identical one?

They see what size and color TSA uses, no trick carrying a few to work in their pocket.
