I just got back from Sardine Class from London last night.
I work for a Fortune 50 company and the general rule at my level (senior manager type) and also for my boss, who was with me, is Coach unless it's to India. I could have flown Business when I went to India 2 years ago but they also said they'd pay for overnights in Europe somewhere if I flew Coach. I stayed in London both ways and I think it really helped with the jet lag. It also saved the company a lot of $$$.
They do let us leave on Saturday when we have to be in the office Monday AM. I spent a wonderful day in Munich last Sunday after landing and that helped acclimate, too.
We have one major systems project going where the policy was Business between here (KS) and Europe. And people were flying back and forth all the time. I got on it last year and got one trip before the policy changed to Coach. Oh, well.
ETA: all Frequent Flyer and Hotel Reward benefits are ours, no questions asked, but we have to use a company credit card to pay all expenses.
