I looked at tiger direct, but ended up buying from Expansys.ca as the price on the phone I wanted was better there. (The service also turned out to be very good too.) You may also wish to peek in at howardforums.com

It is a BB devoted to phones and mobile phone companies. They have a vendors section that has some Canadian based suppliers, including from Toronto that would give you the opportunity to look them in the eye when buying your unlocked GSM.
