A caution to anyone who still has their 2002 Platinum worldwide certificates. I received my 2002 credentials in November 2001. So my four certificates were printed with an expiration date of November 23rd of this year. I booked a trip to Europe for December and upgraded the resevrvation. When I then went to use my certificates, I discovered I would have been out of luck had I not had the ticket issued yesterday.

Effectively this means, if you got your credentials "early", that this key Platinum benefit is lost after November of your year of membership, even thought the card says you are a Platinum until February of the following year.

Would the problem be fixed if the credentials for 2003 came out equally early? I guess it would help, but they AREN'T coming out early. I requalified in October (thanks to the program alerts from the good people on this board) and have seen nothing.

Seems the right thing for Delta to be doing is to actually issue the certificates so they match the term of Platinum eligibility.
