It very well may be the new link they sent you, but take a look at the e-mail you got from Amex again. The link you got in the blue box looks like this:

However, when you actually hover on it or even click it, the link is:
http://www.americanexpress.com/deltamgm1/?id=2400286269
It is that referral ID number you are missing. Just offering my help.
